Questions to Ask Your Residential Roofer

When it comes to hiring a Parker roofing contractor that specializes in residential roofing, there are quite a few things you could ask them, both about their business and about your upcoming roofing project. Following are just some of the questions you might consider bringing up on your first talk with your residential roofer:

  • Are they licensed and insured? These days roofing services tend to be regulated, so you might find that most of them are both licensed and insured. However, it’s still important to ask, since there are plenty of roofers who try to earn a quick buck without first earning their license.

  • What type of roof should you get? There are a lot of options, and in fact you might also inquire about the option of repairing the old roof. If that’s not going to happen, then you could consider metal, composite, slate or clay roofing as some of your top choices.

  • Is there a way to reduce costs? You won’t necessarily need all the bells and whistles and the most expensive slate roof to protect your home against the elements. If you’re on a budget, even a basic composite asphalt shingle roof will do.

  • How long will the roofing project last? Residential roofing is less strict in terms of schedules, but a new installation can still be completed within a couple of days or so. If it takes longer, it’s important to ask your roofer to keep you up to speed with their progress.
